www.biomonitoringinfo.org is a clearinghouse of comprehensive and authoritative information on the nature, uses, potential and limitations of biomonitoring technology. The audience for the site includes U.S. and international government officials, journalists, scientists and interested citizens. Almost all of the materials on the site can be understood by the educated layperson; some of the scientific publications that are linked to may require specialized knowledge in toxicology, analytic chemistry or other fields. Comments about the site and suggestions for additions are encouraged (see Contact Us). The site is published by the Environmental Health Research Foundation (EHRF), a nonprofit scientific research foundation with a mission to improve the analysis and communication of health and environmental issues (see About EHRF ). EHRF is solely responsible for the website content and function. Members of a distinguished Science Advisory Council, experts in various aspects of biomonitoring and associated disciplines, evaluate developments in the field and provide guidance on editorial content and new directions for the site. (See Science Advisory Council.) This site is supported in part by a grant from the American Chemistry Council. Biomonitoringinfo.org is profiled in the Philanthropy News Digest section of the website of the nonprofit Foundation Center in New York. |
